Wild Texas Frontier

Wild Texas Frontier is where you will find the wildest, most challenging activities in all of Grand Texas. With activities for the whole family, Wild Texas Frontier will teach everyone a little about their own limits, their abilities and the Grand State of Texas.

Our High Ropes Course, Texas Tree climbing is a ropes course that includes several different activities all taking place dozens of feet above the ground. There are belays, climbing walls, and finally a zip line that traverses the river to the other side.

Fort Griffin was at the center of Texas’ single greatest battle of the Civil War, the Battle of Little Sabine in which a handful for Texans under Dick Dowling defeated over 5,000 Union Soldiers, causing their retreat. It will also house a myriad of activities including climbing nets, slides, replica cannon, and more. At Wild Texas Frontier, we've recreated Fort Griffin and added a few things as well. You'll find all sorts of activities including rope bridges, ladders, climbing nets.

Trailblazers is an obstacle course with both beginner and advanced routes that test participants’ agility and endurance. We are currently working on a timing mechanism that will enable serious competitors to compare scores. The system of obstacles used is similar to those used by the military in training recruits.  An easier obstacle course will be available for younger guests.

Lafitte’s Lair  was a pirate that sailed off the Texas coast and often used the areas around modern day Galveston to hide from officials of Mexico, the United States and France, while having been a privateer at various times for France, the United States and Spain. A colorful figure, he reportedly hid his treasure somewhere on the island. Search for his treasure high and low.

Alligator Alley is where the island’s most feared inhabitants dwell. The largest
known alligator ever caught was caught in Anahuac, Texas and was over 15 feet long. Alligator Alley is home to a couple of alligators so watch out!

Canoe Rentals are the only way to reach Alligator Alley for a good view. Enjoy the afternoon either racing your friends, kids or parents, or have a leisurely pace, enjoying the natural beauty.

Catch and Release fishing is a very popular activity on the island. Channel catfish swims throughout the river, however fishing is only allowed from our fishing docks. Poles and some bait are provided.

Mayhem Meadow includes Parachute Games, Sumo Wrestling Suits and Giant Boxing Gloves as well as other types of inflatables. There are different activities every single week.

Campfire Pits, fueled by natural gas, the fire pits will provide a great centerpiece for groups looking to rent the island for the night. Tent camping in addition to Quanah Village will be available on a limited basis.

Log Swings and Low Tech Fun are incorporated throughout the island. This gives you an opportunity to return to a simpler time before joysticks and text messaging.

Utilizing the natural settings and the mature trees that abound on the island, take advantage of resting points like a curved, swinging log, or aggressive play areas like the Battering Ram.

Meandering through the woods, you'll find “off the beaten path” activities that will encourage exploration.

TX Grasshoppers are Jumping Pillows that allow families to reach heights unattainable with traditional inflatables. Teens compete to see who can do the most tricks, kids compete to see how high they can go, and toddlers compete only for their parents’ attention as the whole family hops into the air like giant grasshoppers.

The Stockade is a giant maze resembling a stockade, where participants are timed and have to use clues to find their way out. There’s even more fun during Halloween (with unwelcomed guests) and water fun during the summer. This activity keeps you running, even if in the wrong direction
